Overall Match Analysis: At Hamilton, March 7. India won by 55 runs, India's total having been revised to 158 and Zimbabwe's to 103 from their highest-scoring 19 overs. Another rain-affected match was decided by the controversial rule on shortened innings. This time India were the beneficiaries. But there was widespread sympathy for Zimbabwe, who were making good progress in pursuit of 204 from 32 overs.

Their 104 for one from 19.1 compared well with 106 for three at the same point of the Indian innings. With Flower, who had reached 200 runs in the tournament, still at the crease, another 100 from 13 was not impossible. In the morning, three hours had been lost to rain, and Tendulkar dominated the 32 overs allotted to India. He scored 81 from 77 balls (one six, eight fours), and with Manjrekar added 99 in 15 overs for the fourth wicket.

Sachin's Performance Analysis: This was Sachin Tendulkar's 36th One Day International Match and he won his 6th ODI MOM award in this match after excellent all round performance. He Played an excellent knock in the match by scoring 81 runs of 77 balls, eight fours and smashed a brilliant six. And in the Zimbabwe innings, when the Zimbabwe openers are going strong, Sachin was introduced as the 4th bowler. And soon Sachin broke the opening partnership by bowling out Omarshah with his medium pacer. And took the only wicket to fall in the zimbabwe innings. Definitely an all round performance par excellence & well deserved Man Of The Match Award.
