Overall Match Analysis: At Sharjah, October 22. India won by seven wickets. Toss: India. India had never beaten West Indies batting second in a one-day international, but when Azharuddin asked his opponents to bat they stumbled to 145 all out, and a third successive win put India through to the final. Though India lost Raman with one run on the board, Sidhu and Manjrekar put them on the right track with 107 for the second wicket.

Sachin's Performance Analysis:
This was Sachin Tendulkar’s 16th match and he got his 2nd Man of the Match award. The unlikely instrument of West Indies' downfall was Tendulkar's gentle medium pace. Sachin picked up the wickets of Windies opener CB Lambert and also their captain RB Richardson. When both Sidhu and Manjrekar were dismissed in quick succession, Tendulkar and Azharuddin raced to victory with more than 12 overs to spare.
