Overall Match & Sachin's Performance Analysis: The batsmen have traditionally enjoyed this high-scoring venue with a true wicket that holds up throughout the length of a 50-over game. A slow pitch at the small IPCL ground was ideal for batting: Rutherford reached his maiden hundred in his 103rd one-day international, only to be trumped when Tendulkar returned to form with 115. Rutherford scored at more than a run a ball and hit 13 fours, while Parore, who helped him add 180, made 96 without a boundary hit. Restored to open, Tendulkar was dropped on eight, bided his time in a 144-run stand with Prabhakar, and then broke out in a flurry of shots. He hit nine fours and three sixes in 136 balls. Though he was run out when Azharuddin's straight drive ricocheted off Nash's hands on to the stumps, victory was a near-formality.

Trivia:

╠► Sachin Tendulkar has scored the maximum runs at this Vadodara IPCL stadium which is 428 runs in 6 innings at an average of 85.60 & a Strike rate of 87.70

╠► Sachin's score of 115 in this match was the 2nd highest score on this venue with Sachin himself holding the record of highest score of 122 against RSA on the same venue.
